As the Senior Manager, Trading Audit & Risk, you will be a crucial member of the governance team, working closely with all front office trading departments. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, ensuring that the company’s trading operations remain compliant, efficient, and effective while navigating the dynamic and complex commodities market.
Job Description
Based in Zurich, the Senior Manager, Trading Audit & Risk will have a broad range of responsibilities, including:
- Leading the end-to-end delivery of operational and compliance audits within trading operations, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting.
- Conducting risk assessments and developing targeted, risk-focused audit plans that identify and address potential operational and compliance risks within trading activities.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of the internal control environment, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Preparing clear and concise draft audit reports that communicate findings and suggestions to key stakeholders.
- Tracking the implementation of audit recommendations and working with auditees to ensure timely closure of action items.
- Overseeing the execution of audits on time, with the support of junior resources.
- Offering guidance and mentorship to junior audit staff, helping them grow and develop their skills.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have:
- In-depth understanding of the commodities trading industry, including physical trading, shipping, and derivatives.
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in internal audit, risk functions, or similar roles, with a strong focus on commodities trading.
- Proven success in designing and managing audit engagements within commodities trading, covering key risk areas such as compliance, market risk (price, forex, interest), and credit risk.
- A solid understanding of audit and risk/control procedures, as well as techniques and sampling methods for testing.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to gather, analyze, and evaluate information and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal, with strong communication skills to effectively present findings and recommendations.
