Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation) Director to lead and oversee
compliance, risk
management, and sustainability initiatives related to the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) within
our global
manufacturing operations. This role will be based in Düsseldorf, Germany, and will ensure the
company's sourcing,
supply chain, and production processes align with the latest EU environmental and sustainability
standards.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in regulatory compliance, supply chain
traceability, ESG reporting,
and sustainable procurement within a manufacturing environment. The EUDR Director will work
closely with suppliers,
legal teams, procurement, and sustainability departments to ensure full adherence to
deforestation-free supply
chain requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the company's EUDR compliance strategy, ensuring all raw materials and products meet
deforestation-free requirements.
- Develop and implement company-wide policies, procedures, and risk controls for compliance with
EUDR regulations.
- Monitor evolving EU sustainability regulations, including EUDR, CSRD (Corporate Sustainability
Reporting Directive), and CBAM.
- Engage with regulatory authorities, industry bodies, and third-party auditors to stay ahead of
compliance requirements.
- Oversee traceability systems and due diligence for sourcing raw materials such as wood, rubber,
soy, palm oil, cocoa, and cattle-derived products.
- Ensure full supply chain mapping and geolocation data tracking to validate deforestation-free
sourcing.
- Lead risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies related to raw material sourcing
and deforestation risks.
- Oversee internal audits, third-party verifications, and supplier compliance programs to meet EUDR
due diligence requirements.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, investors, and external partners to communicate compliance
strategies and progress.
- Prepare and submit ESG and sustainability reports, aligning with EU regulatory frameworks and
industry best practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Law, Supply Chain
Management, or Business Administration.
- 10+ years in regulatory compliance, ESG, or sustainability leadership within a manufacturing or
supply chain-driven organization.
- Strong knowledge of EUDR, CSRD, due diligence frameworks, and environmental compliance
regulations.
- Experience in supply chain transparency, risk management, and responsible sourcing.
- Fluency in English and German (preferred).
