Group Human Rights Officer
Leonid Group is privileged to exclusively represent a leading global technology manufacturer, with a presence across multiple international offices. Based in their Munich subsidiary, you will take a pivotal role in shaping and leading the company’s global Human Rights strategy. In this capacity, you will advise senior leadership on navigating sociological challenges and regulatory complexities both within the European Union and internationally.
The Role
As the Group Human Rights Officer, you will:
- Collaborate with the Global Sustainability Team to develop and execute both proactive and reactive partnerships with key labour, human rights, and gender stakeholders worldwide.
- Advise on, introduce, and implement human rights policies in alignment with global legal frameworks and evolving regulations.
- Partner with the Legal, Global Supply Chain, and Corporate Affairs teams to drive the business’s response to human rights-related issues.
- Work closely with the Supply Chain Sustainability team to ensure programs, practices, and partnerships consistently deliver value for workers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Oversee the global implementation of capability-building programs, regularly reviewing their effectiveness and impact. You will assess how these programs align strategically and operationally, while leading efforts to evolve and improve them based on insights and evaluation results.
- Lead benchmarking initiatives to compare programs with industry standards, while fostering and building industry-leading collaborations.
- Develop comprehensive risk matrices and actionable recommendations, particularly when assessing countries for sourcing suitability based on human rights, labour, gender, and social factors.
- Drive internal and external sustainability governance and reporting, collaborating across brands and functions to track progress, enhance program visibility, and communicate results effectively.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in human rights or a related field within large multinational corporations.
- Extensive expertise in designing, implementing, and managing human rights frameworks, business models, and governance structures.
- A proven ability to navigate complex engagements with a diverse set of stakeholders, particularly in the context of global supply chains.
- Exceptional communication and coalition-building skills, with a demonstrated passion for fostering partnerships and finding collaborative solutions with stakeholders who hold diverse perspectives.
- The ability to work independently, thrive in ambiguous situations, and bring clarity and direction to business partners.
