The purpose of the role of the Global ESG & CSR Director is to lead the draft, design and development of the future ESG & CSR strategy internally and ensure its implementation & execution, as well as advise on potential new strategies with their clients.
The Role
- Develop, lead, execute, and articulate the company's cohesive ESG strategy in conjunction with senior leadership team and other business or program leaders.
- Identify and prioritize ESG issues that are material to the company and its stakeholders.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with ESG standards and regulations.
- Create the framework, metrics, and measurements to ensure that the company delivers on its commitments.
- Develop and manage process for collecting qualitative and quantitative data to feed into internal KPIs and dashboards, client ESG requests, and reporting for external voluntary commitments, such as UNGC, CDP and SBTi.
- Monitor and report on ESG performance, including progress towards goals and targets.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to build relationships and promote ESG initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate ESG considerations into decision-making processes.
- Manage ESG-related risks and opportunities, including climate change, social issues, and governance.
- Direct third-party consultants and vendors as needed.
- Stay up to date on ESG trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Designs the annual report regarding CSRD and looking at CS3D also.
The Candidate
- Bachelor's (Ideally masters) degree in a related field, such as sustainability, environmental science, or business.
- 10 years+ of experience in ESG Management, sustainability, or related field.
- Experience developing and implementing ESG strategies and initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of ESG issues and trends, including climate change, social issues, and governance.
- Thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience managing teams and projects
- Fluent in English. Additional competency in German, French or Arabic would be a major plus
