We have been retained to hire a GTS Business Process Owner at a global analytical services and solutions provider in the scientific sector.

The Role:
As part of their global trade compliance transformation, our client is seeking a GTS Business Process Owner to lead and scale their International Trade compliance (ITC) technology program across all regions. This position will drive the design and delivery of end-to-end trade technology solutions that support the company's goals and objectives as well as directly take oversight of their external service providers (GTS technical consultants) for SAP GTS support in all regions.
This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities which include project management, translation of trade regulations into system processes, coordination of system migrations, new site implementations, on-going system updates, and identification of new trade technologies that could bring value to the business.
Responsibilities:
Business Process Ownership & Governance
- Own and govern end-to-end SAP GTS business processes, including international trade compliance requirements, integrations, controls, and supporting procedures
- Define and maintain the standard operating procedures for SAP GTS, ensuring alignment with the business's compliance goals and objectives
- Serve as the primary point of contact for SAP GTS process design & change management
Solution Design & Delivery
- Lead business requirement definition and solution design for SAP GTS enhancements, implementations, and system migrations
- Translate complex trade regulations into standardized technology-enabled solutions
- Partner closely with IT to ensure system configurations, enhancements, and releases align with approved business processes and global standards
Operation Support and Continuous Improvement
- Provide functional leadership and advanced support for SAP GTS to ensure business continuity and compliance
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex SAP GTS issues, partnering with IT and regional teams as required
- Identify process gaps, control weaknesses, and automation opportunities
- Identify & drive continuous improvement initiatives
Cross Functional & Regional Collaboration
- Act as the central liaison between international trade compliance & business teams on technology & SAP topics
- Support global & regional stakeholders during new site implementations, acquisitions, and system upgrades
- Lead change management activities, including stakeholder communication, training support, and system monitoring
Requirements:
- +7 years of SAP GTS experience, preferably as a business process owner, internal consultant, or similar role
- Bs or Ms Degree in information systems, computer science, business management, or similar fields
- Project management experience leading SAP GTS implementations, system migrations, or global rollouts
- Experience with S/4 HANA is a plus
Preferred Characteristics:
- Strong understanding of international trade compliance
- Demonstrated ability to transform regional trade requirements into technology-managed solutions
- Familiarity with life science / medical device business and/or assembly operations a plus
- Proven ability to lead across regions and collaborate cross-functionally
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills
