Head of Corporate Security & Investigations

The Head of Corporate Security & Investigations will be the strategic lead and ensure the delivery of robust and effective security programs focusing on protecting people, assets, and reputation. As a security subject matter expert, the role will be responsible for educating, influencing, and supporting stakeholders at all levels within the organization. Act in critical incidents and steer complex investigations. Ensure sustainable security awareness to protect individuals and enable the organization to enhance and manage their security measures globally. Ensure optimal utilization of external resources and service providers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Establish and lead a global security strategy to protect our organization and identify protection goals and objectives consistent with the company's strategic plan to effectively manage risk and liability.
  • Lead and drive the development and implementation of global security policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure an acceptable level of security to safeguard our assets, employees, products, facilities, and information.
  • Establish a cross-functional framework for investigating internal incidents, security breaches, theft, and losses.
  • Provide governance and oversight for proactive security operations and sensitive digital forensics investigations
  • Integrate data into security architecture to help mitigate risk, including insider threats.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local, national, and international authorities, regulatory bodies, law enforcement agencies, and relevant industry associations.
  • Leadership: Ensures that all stakeholders are aligned on the global standards and strategic direction related to security management. Ensures that adequate security resources are provided to each site. Ensures that the site security infrastructure at each location is adequate and proportional considering the security-related threats.
  • Implementation and Operations: Develops global policies and standards for security applicable to all sites. Leads the selection of security service providers within the regions and oversees performance assessment processes and feedback to the providers.
  • Ensures that systems are in place to demonstrate and verify compliance with all pertinent security-related regulations, statutes, local ordinances, and other externally driven requirements in the regions.
  • Ensures that systems are in place to demonstrate and verify conformity with all pertinent guidelines and policies.
  • Ensures that security services are provided to sites in an effective, efficient, and consistent manner.
  • Ensures that effective and efficient security management systems and supporting programs (e.g., physical security, technical security, threat intelligence, emergency management) are in place and appropriate for the organisation's facilities.
  • People Management: Leads the Corporate Security function and provides coaching/mentoring to security managers.
 

Areas of experience:

  • A minimum of 15 years of professional experience related to security, preferably with exposure to the pharmaceutical, biomedical research, and/or healthcare industries.
  • 7+ years of experience in a leadership/supervisory role.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an operational/site-based role.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and lead in a highly matrixed global environment.
  • Formal experience in investigations is strongly desirable.
